
Obituary of Raymond Bruce Stamper
Raymond “Bruce” Stamper (72 Years) passed away peacefully on the 28th of February 2023 in his Winamac home. He is survived by his daughter and caretaker, Jessica Stamper, his brothers Pete Stamper and Richard “Dick” Stamper, his niece Nichole Ireland, and his cousin Cherise Becker, also his caretaker.
He was born in Chicago later moving to Winamac, Indiana, shortly after with his late mother and father Katherine and Howard Stamper and brothers Pete and Dick. He served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Special Forces during the Vietnam era and later fulfilled his dream of owning and operating his own bar in Valparaiso, Indiana, from 1995 until the time of his death.
He enjoyed traveling and saw much of the world. A lover of history, Harley Davidson, The Chicago Bears, and his pug Rambo, he spent his last years with the company of family and friends while overlooking the same Tippecanoe River that he grew up on. He will be remembered as a tough man with a tender heart for those closest to him.
In accordance with Bruce’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be scheduled.
