

Obituary of Michael Lee Shidler
On Friday morning January 14, 2022, our courageous Michael Lee Shidler, 58, was called to take his place in the Heavenly choir. Through his life, he worked very hard and received many blessings. He always stayed strong in his faith and had an undying love for his family and friends, especially his son, Thomas Michael Shidler. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Francesville, IN where he was baptized as a teen.
Michael was born on October 28, 1963 in Indianapolis, IN. He grew up in Francesville and graduated from West Central High School in 1982. His first job was with Ward Stone running heavy equipment and then Sun Chemical in Frankfort, IN. He moved to Louisiana where he began working in the oil industry. This led him to Texas, where he worked for Baker Hughes, Halliburton, and Schlumberger until he started his own company, Maverick Supply Services, which he successfully owned and operated for many years.

Visitation will be from 10 AM -12 Noon EST Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon EST Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Indiana Veteran’s Home Cemetery at 1:00 PM EDT Saturday, October 7, 2023 with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating.
Burial will take place at the Indiana Veteran’s Home Cemetery located at 3851 N. River Rd. West Lafayette, IN 47906. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Grace on Wings or SouthernCare Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
